Built Futures Atlas collects snapshots, stories, and structured responses from people experiencing the built environment every day. Each response becomes a data point. Over time, these points reveal patterns across place, memory, responsibility, repair, and design.

Process
A participant captures a snapshot: a photograph, short video, or marked map section of a condition they have observed in the built environment.
They respond to a structured question about what they noticed and who holds the ability to respond.
The system tags and organises the response by theme, spatial condition, and type of distress or design intelligence.
Similar responses form clusters. Recurring patterns emerge across geography, age, gender, and spatial condition.
The Atlas turns lived experience into reusable knowledge, structured enough to enter the room where decisions are made.
Built Futures Atlas does not begin with the assumption that communities lack knowledge. It begins with the belief that lived experience is already knowledge. The work is to build the system that can recognize it, organize it, and make it useful.
